The bad weather has put the Municipality of Athens on heightened alert. The low temperatures that are expected to prevail have mobilized the relevant services, for the protection of vulnerable citizens and the homeless.

So, starting today, Wednesday, the Reception and Solidarity Center of the Municipality (KYADA) activates its services, while Street Work groups began operating on the streets of the city, handing out hot tea, raisins, toast, clothing and blankets. They will also help those citizens who find it difficult to move and find housing and warmth in the Dormitory of the Multipurpose Center for the Homeless, which operates to accommodate, feed and serve their needs.

Particularly, the homeless can be accommodated in the Dormitory of the Multipurpose Center for the Homelesson Acharna and Liosion streets.

KYADA’s call center (2105246515-6, ext.0) will be open until 11:00 p.m. and will receive reports from citizens about the places where homeless people are in need of help, so that the Street Work teams can intervene.

Reports on places where homeless people are found can also be made to the four-digit contact number of the Municipality of Athens 1595.
