The new wave of bad weather started during the night of Tuesday brought snow to the mountain villages of Evia, but also to lower altitudes.

Seta was “dressed in white” with heavy snowfall that has started a few hours ago in the mountains but also in villages of the Municipality of Dirfia Messapia, such as the villages, Kadi of the municipality of Kymi Aliveriou, in the villages of Stropones, Agia Sofia and Limiona.

The photos shared by citizens on social media are impressive to say the least.

At the same time, the road from Agios Athanasios to Glyfada has been closed due to the snow, at this time as you will see in the following video of evima.gr, machines of the municipality are at the point where they are opening the road, together with the former deputy mayor Babis Tsokos.

A snow-white landscape has been created in Evia, with the temperature close to 1 degree Celsius.

“Pictures of a fairy tale” was brought by the heavy snowfall on Mount Telethrio in North Evia after a picturesque church in the area was dressed in white, as it was covered by the volume of snow.

Telethrio has an altitude of 970 meters, and direction from east to west.

At its top there is the chapel of the prophet Ilias.

The area, together with Lihada and Yaltra, is part of the Nature 2000 Network.

In Telethrio there are dense forests with a wide variety of trees, ravines, gorges and small waterfalls.

Telethrio is one of the low mountains (Lichada, Telethrio, Xiron Oros) that together with hilly and smooth areas make up the general relief of Northern Evia.

So the mountain was dressed in white, as at the same time as the morning data published by the page Forecasts for Evia, the development for Saturday is locked by 90%.

The effects will be of moderate intensity only in the east and in the mountains they seem to have some intensity.

They are estimated to begin late Friday night and end in the midday hours of Saturday.

They will be mainly focused on north-central Evia.

The snowfall will be focused from 200-300m. and above.

However, between midnight and the early hours of the morning, it is very likely that the snow in north-central Evia will fall on lowland – semi-lowland areas (and mainly areas that are far from the sea and close to mountains to turn it into snow).
