In the arrest of a 38-year-old for sexual assault the police proceeded. The perpetrator had harassed at least eight women, whom he followed in the wider area Acharnon.

He was arrested, in the afternoon hours of 1-15-2024, in Acharnes, by policemen of the Acharnes Security Department, a 38-year-old citizen for an offense of sexual dignity per se.

In the context of investigating a complaint regarding a person who, in the afternoon of 11-1-2024, approached and followed a young woman as she was leaving a tutoring school in the Acharna area and made gestures of a sexual nature, a special police team was formed to locate him.

After surveillance of the places where the suspect was moving by police officers, he was located outside a school frequented by underage students and stopped.

From the further preliminary investigation, he was identified as the perpetrator of a total of eight offensive acts of sexual dignity against women that he committed at an earlier time in the same area.

The arrested person was taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
