Kostas Barkas testified about his personal experiences about the birth of his daughter, on the occasion of a statement allegedly made by Kostas Kyranakis about childbearing
The SYRIZA MP made a moving confession Kostas Barkas speaking to Kontra Channel about the same-sex couples bill.
The SYRIZA MP testified about his personal experiences about the birth of his daughter.
As Mr. Barkas specifically mentioned “when we talk about marriage we also talk about procreation. Perfect (…) Medically assisted reproduction it also concerns heterosexual couples. My daughter was born with medically assisted reproduction, because I had the problem, and we could not have a child in any other normal way… So we turned to a doctor, and he helped us medically to have a child”.
As he pointed out “because these issues are very delicate and concern children and people who want to offer love to children, this debate and all this thing that unfortunately elected parliamentarians put in the debate should stop”.
In this context, Kostas Barkas commented that the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Kostas Kyranakis, said that he is in favor of marriage, but against procreation.
“Mr. Kyranakis has otherwise finished Law… Mr. Kyranakis should therefore know that the civil code of our country, article 1456, since 1946 says that marriage equals procreation”.
