In the arrest of two people for his murders Yannis Skaftourou and Vassilis Roubetis, of Stefanakos’ protopalikaro, as well as for the attempted murder of Mavropoulos in Pieria, as well as the arson of two gas stations, interests of the two murdered, the police proceeded on Wednesday night. There were, however, also arrests of people, while other people who participated in the executions have been identified, for whom international arrest warrants have been issued, as it is estimated that they have fled outside of Greece.
The murders of Skaftouros and Roubetis are included in the clearance file concerning Greek Mafia.
It is recalled that 55-year-old G. Skaftouros, also known as “Uncle Joe” in the area of ​​the Greek mafia, was murdered in April 2022 in his country house in Skourta, Boeotia.
Vassilis Roubetis was murdered together with his best man in June 2023 in Piraeus.
The arrests came less than 24 hours after his murder Vangelis Zampounis in the New Worldwhich is also part of the settlement of accounts of the so-called Greek Mafia.
