Who retires and who gets promoted
After his decision CYSEA and the selection of a new Chief of the Greek Police, following a Presidential Decree that was issued, the following Lieutenant Generals were put on voluntary retirement, as successfully ending their careers, as follows:
- George Douvalis, who is awarded the title of Honorary Deputy Chief of the Greek Police,
- Eleftherios Garilas, who is awarded the title of Honorary Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Police Headquarters,
- Spyridon Sklavos, who is awarded the title of Honorary Inspector General of the Police of Northern Greece,
- Nikolaos Spanoudakis, who is awarded the title of Honorary Inspector General of the Police of Southern Greece.
At the same time, with the same Presidential Decree, Major General Christos Kondylis is promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General outside of organic positions, as having successfully completed his career, due to the selection of a younger Officer of the same rank as Chief of the Greek Army, and will retire after thirty (30) days, by another presidential decree.
Then under the Chairmanship of the Chief of the Greek Police, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios and the participation of two (2) Lieutenant Generals of the Land Army, the Supreme Crisis Council met and judged the -19- Major Generals of the Greek Police (-18- General Duties and -1 – Special Duties – Health – Doctor).
Appointed the following Lieutenant Generals of the Greek Police to be eligible for the rank of Lieutenant General, to fill four (4) vacant organizational positions of this rank:
- Paschalis Syritoudis
- Asterio Mangioka
- George Michalopoulos
- Christos Bouloubasis
Judged the following Major Generals of General and Special Duties of the Hellenic Police to be preserved:
- Panagiotis Poupouza
- Christos Manoura
- Dimitrios Bakola
- George Vassiliou
- George Papadopoulos
- Charalambo Kalogiros
- Athanasios Badeka (Health – Doctor)
Judged in view of ex officio retirement, the following eight (8) Major Generals of General Duties of the Hellenic Police, who are promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General outside of organic positions and will be retired after thirty (30) days, by another presidential decree:
- Free Durodu
- Emmanuel Durvetakis
- Apostolo Martzaklis
- Dimitrios Pantelis
- Konstantinos Markopoulos
- George Balla
- Georgios Lybinakis
- Basil Rocco
The judgments will continue with the judgment of the Brigadier Generals of the Greek Police.
