A 56-year-old man accused of raping an underage girl was arrested by the Minors Protection Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate on Saturday morning, in the area of ​​Patisia.

According to information from skai.gr, the 56-year-old allegedly raped the minor girl since she was 8 years old, taking advantage of the companionship he had developed with her mother.

In addition, having developed communication with her through online applications, at his own request, the minor sent him, on his mobile phone, a photo of her, depicting a naked part of her body, in a way that clearly causes sexual arousal.

On the order of the 35th Investigative Department of the Court of First Instance of Athens, a search was carried out at the house of the above arrested person to find evidence related to the case, and a number of digital evidences as well as an air gun were seized.

Criminal proceedings were brought against the 56-year-old and he was referred to the 35th Investigative Department of the Court of First Instance of Athens, from where the Arrest Warrant was issued.

In detail, the Police announcement:

A 56-year-old citizen, accused of rape of a minor, abuse of a minor under the age of 14 and pornography of minors through information systems using a minor who has reached the age of 15, consecutively.

In particular, as emerged from the investigation, the 56-year-old, for at least the last -7- years, had been performing sexual acts against a minor, taking advantage of the companionship he had developed with her mother, while at the same time, through online applications, he had obtained from the victim photographic material, pornographic content.

In a search carried out at the 56-year-old’s home, a large amount of digital evidence as well as an air gun were found and confiscated.

The arrested person will be taken to the competent Investigator.
