The overnight stay of the farmers at the point of mobilization in BOAK, at the height of the KTEO, was announced a little while ago by the President of the Livestock Association of Heraklion. Lefteris Triantafyllakis.
With Greek flags, tractors and agricultural vehicles, farmers and breeders arrived at BOAK at the height of the old KTEO in Karteros.
According to cretalive, the participants in the rally from the prefectures of Heraklion and Lasithi closed at approximately 12:30 in the afternoon both traffic streams of the Northern Road Axis of Crete, while shortly after 2:00 in the afternoon they opened the road, for half an hour as mentioned.
According to the information, after consultation with the police authorities, the participants in the rally are expected to open the road from time to time, especially at peak hours, in order to relieve congestion on the side roads and especially on the old National Road.
As it became known, as long as the block exists in BOAK, police forces are diverting traffic on the Kallithea Bridge, in one stream and at the height of the Gourni junction in the opposite stream.
It should be noted that the block was opened as many times as an ambulance had to pass by.
According to the representatives of the farmers, there is pending an “invitation” they are expecting from the Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis and the financial staff, in order to go to Athens for discussions. The course of the mobilizations will depend on this development.
Similar mobilization is also underway in Chania,that farmers and breeders proceed to block the BOAK in both streams, between the junctions of Mournion and Souda. As they state, they will remain at the site indefinitely.
