For the same period, Volvo Car Hellas announces a 15-year record in its sales in the Greek market, with registrations of 2,388 cars, increased by 24% compared to 2022.

The top sales performance indicates the strong momentum of Volvo Cars’ electric range, now also supported by the stabilization of the supply chain. Last year, the company sold 113,419 pure electric cars globally, 70% more than in 2022, and 152,561 plug-in hybrid cars, 10% more than in 2022. Pure electric car sales account for 16% of all cars Volvos sold worldwide during 2023.

In 2023, European sales reached 294,794 cars, an increase of 19% compared to 2022. The Volvo Recharge model range, with a pure electric or plug-in hybrid drive system, took a 59% share of all cars sold on the continent last year.

Sales figures for 2023 in Greece paint a similar picture, with even greater penetration of electric Volvo models in the market: for the year as a whole, registrations of pure electric and plug-in hybrid Volvo Recharge reached 1,819 cars, an increase of 82% compared to 2022, with all-electric registrations up +69% and plug-in hybrids up +87% compared to 2022.

It is worth noting that the strong demand for Volvo plug-in hybrids placed the company in first place in this category in Greece, with a 16.1% share of the total market. Equally important is the increase in sales of purely electric Volvos which, with 396 units for 2023, now represent 17% of the company’s total registrations.
