With a historical record of increase in passenger traffic and flights, 2023 closed for the airports of our country, in relation to the corresponding period of 2022 and 2019.

According to its statistics Civil Aviation Servicefor all the airports of our country, (Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport, 24 airports managed by CAA, 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece), the total number of moving passengers in the 12 months of the year 2023 (arrivals and departures of foreign and domestic passengers) reached 72,613,658 compared to 63,672,121 in the corresponding period of 2022 and 64,169,005 passengers in 2019. From the above statistics, there is a 14% increase in total passenger traffic compared to 2022 and a 13.2% increase compared to 2019.

For the month December 2023according to the same data, an increase in passenger traffic is recorded by 16.2% compared to 2022 and by 13.4% compared to 2019, as 2,839,289 were handled in 2023, 2,442,727 in 2022 and 2,442,727 in 2019 2,503,206 passengers were transported.

In the field of air traffic, flight statistics for the 12 months of 2023 (January/December 2023, domestic and international aircraft arrivals and departures) show that there were 561,869 flights in 2023, compared to 552,492 in 2022 and 526,155 flights in 2019, with total air traffic in 12 months 2023 to be up 1.7% compared to 2022 and up 6.8% compared to 2019.
