In terms of exterior approach, the new Ford Transit Custom stands out for its completely new aesthetic approach characterized by bold, horizontal body lines and a wider front grille. At the same time, allied with the new platform on which it is based, professionals now enjoy significant practical benefits in their work, thanks to the lower floor and ceiling height and easier access to the cargo area, which can easily accommodate the new Transit Custom up to three euro pallets, regardless of the body type (L1 or L2) chosen by customers.
With a new and richly equipped interior
The new Ford Transit Custom offers a modern and well-equipped interior that makes commuting equally enjoyable, relaxing and safe for everyone. Thanks to moving the front wheels forward, passenger legroom is now upgraded.
Also, the electric parking brake, the keyless entry system and the new, 8-inch digital screen in front of the driver, combined with the 13-inch central touchscreen with Ford SYNC 4 connectivity and a built-in 5G modem, are the new elements compared to the past that come to strengthen the areas of comfort for even more seamless movements.
With advanced 2.0L EcoBlue engines, four-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission
The new Ford Transit Custom is powered by Ford’s renowned, efficient and advanced 2.0L EcoBlue diesel engine, which is now available in three options delivering a maximum output of 136PS, 150PS or 170PS.
Drivers have different driving profiles such as Normal, Eco and Slippery at their disposal to adjust characteristics of their vehicle – such as engine response and traction and stability control – for greater driving comfort and optimized performance. Also, the Limited version additionally has the Sport program. New Transit Custom with a factory hitch also offer a drive mode called Tow/Haul, while van models equipped with a manual transmission and limited slip differential (mLSD) additionally have a Trail mode.
For the first time in the Transit Custom, Ford offers the option of one automatic transmission with 8 transmission ratios and a faster torque converter for less wear, which improves both acceleration and fuel efficiency. With the 2.0L EcoBlue 136PS engine and only in combination with this particular automatic transmission, the new Ford Transit Custom is available with an AWD four-wheel drive system, which transfers torque to the front wheels and automatically to the rear wheels when required, in order to ensure the optimal grip and handling of the vehicle through a sophisticated control software.
