As announced by the municipal Authority, the Green Fund approved the promotion and implementation of the specific program, whose budget exceeds 200,000 euros.
An extensive program for the creation of “pocket parks” will be drawn up by the municipality of Mandras-Idylias and for this reason it will request funding from the “Antonis Tritsis” program. The mayor Armodios Drikos met with the president of the Green Fund, Yiannis Androulakis, with the aim of utilizing active financial programs related to urban development, the revitalization of the urban fabric and the energy upgrade.
Thus, the municipality of Mandras – Idyllias will request the utilization of funding, related to the creation of the so-called “pocket parks”, but also to the creation of parks and sports facilities in the settlements, while for the first time an expropriation program will be submitted to all municipal units, with in order to create shared public spaces.
As announced by the municipal Authority, the Green Fund approved the promotion and implementation of the specific program, whose budget exceeds 200,000 euros. These parks will be accessible to everyone, with environmentally friendly construction materials.
Furthermore, the submission of a proposal by the municipality to the “Urban Revitalization” program of the Green Fund for the creation of an open-air multipurpose space in the area of ​​Nea Zoi Mandra, with the cost of the specific project reaching 400,000 euros, was launched.
Finally, it was decided to submit a file for inclusion in the financing program, which concerns expropriations either of properties that have been long-term reserved by the municipality and have not been used, or of properties that are abandoned, so that they can be turned into shared public spaces.
“For the first time we are submitting a documented study to the Green Fund, which had never before been submitted by the municipality of Mandras-Idyllia, with the aim of utilizing funding and activating programs,” Mr. Drikos emphasized and added: “Our goal is to shape the our municipality a functionally aesthetic and environmentally upgraded public space for movement, recreation and sports, which will be attributed to the residents and visitors of our place. A pole of attraction and point of reference for the municipality, which highlights and serves the modern needs of the citizens”.
