The SYRIZA member of parliament, Pavlos Polakis, talks about “images of shame” at the Sotiria hospital, presenting a video of a patient being transported by an ambulance, in the rain, while the interior of the ambulance is also in a very bad condition.

The announcement of Pavlos Polakis in more detail:

On 16/12/2023, with my post I highlighted the miserable condition of the ambulance in which patients are transported within Sotiria hospital – from the emergency rooms to the clinics or from the clinics for examinations (photos 1,2,3, 4).

On 16/01/2024, I came back with a new post as a month later nothing had changed. Out of the 3 ambulances, 2 remained permanently out of service while the 3rd was still operating in the same dire condition.

Today, through the video I made public (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGehSRRfR/), every citizen can see the miserable conditions in which patients are still being transported to Sotiria: the areas where the ambulance approaches they have no canopy to protect from the rain while the patient is covered in nylon for transport in the collapsing ambulance, which does not even have heating in the patient cabin!

A month and a half after the first post, patients are still being transported inside the hospital in conditions that pose risks for their safety and which offend not only them, but also every Greek tax-paying citizen.

The Ministry of Health and Mr. Adonis personally, are not entitled to claim that they did not know, knew and did not care.

It seems that the priorities of the Mitsotakis government and its chosen one in Health, Mr. Georgiadis, are other: the granting of profitable health services to the private sector and the return of contractors to hospitals. Unfortunately for the Greek citizen, the completion of the plan presupposes the continuous degradation of the NHS.
