The trial of the case that shocked the country is expected on Monday, after several postponements
On Monday, February 5after several postponements, the case for the brutal murder of 24-year-old Eratos, as reported by stonisi.gr.
On May 23, 2019, Erato was murdered by her estranged husband, in her home in Mytilini, leaving a 2.5-year-old girl an orphan.
Erato’s parents have taken custody of the 7-year-old girl today.
The killer of 24-year-old Eratos has been found guilty at first instance of premeditated murder in a calm state of mind with life imprisonment and of illegal carrying of weapons and illegal use of weapons.
From postponement to postponement
Initially, the Court of Appeal was set for March 14, 2022. The first postponement was then given for December 5, 2022 with a reason that was commented negatively that the defendant’s lawyer had to attend a single-member court.
On 12/5/2022 another adjournment was granted to 9/18/2023 because the womanizer changed his lawyer.
On September 18, 2023 the court did not start due to illness of the president of the Appellants. On Wednesday, September 20, it officially started, but due to time running out, it was postponed to 9/22 and due to obstacles from the lawyers, one of whom was sick with coronavirus, the trial was moved to February 5, 2024.
In the meantime, Erato’s family moves to Mytilene, bearing the financial cost and facing their daughter’s killer again and again.
