Medical announcement about the death of the 28-year-old from Larissa who was diagnosed with streptococcus and ended on 01.02.24 issued by the Papageorgiou Hospital.

Specifically, the announcement states:

“According to the patient’s medical file and the Papageorgiou Hospital medical records, the a patient was transferred on 31.01.24, at 16:20, from the 424 General Military Training Hospital, with the diagnosis of resistant heart failure on the ground, complicated aortic, mitral and tricuspid endocarditis, with a positive blood culture for Granulicatella adiacens. He underwent emergency cardiac surgery on 01.02.24 and died the same day.

As his brother told tirnavopress earlier today, the 28-year-old went twice to outpatient clinics of large hospitals in Thessaloniki but no doctor saw him. When his condition worsened due to his brother’s actions, he went to the 424 military hospital in Thessaloniki and the doctors, after giving him antibiotics, sent him urgently to the Papageorgiou Hospital where all the doctors of the Cardiac Surgery clinic fought unequally to save him.

After 7 hours of surgery it ended on February 1st plunging into mourning the family of Tyrnavos and all his friends as well as the acquaintances in the company who worked.

“My brother suffered a lot initially from rheumatoid arthritis about a year ago and started doing various tests at private doctors without being able to find a cure”reports the 28-year-old’s brother.

“Some point when the pains became unbearable he visited the outpatient clinics of 2 hospitals in Thessaloniki but due to waiting more than 6 hours he could not stand the pains and returned home and to his work. His professional activity was very intense and dynamic with high dreams and goals”, he added.

“He fought the disease but the many immunosuppressive drugs weakened his immune system and the strep found him weakened.” he emphasized.
