The farmers continue their mobilizations with symbolic blockades on the national roads
Farmers, breeders and beekeepers who have set up blockades in various key points of Central Macedonia continued today in symbolic blockades of half an hour, from one in the afternoon.
In particular, the agricultural blocks at the junctions went on a symbolic blockade of half an hour Derveniouon the national road Thessaloniki – Kavala and Strymonikou on Egnatia road Thessaloniki – Serres as well as in other places in the prefectures Imathia, Pella and Pieriaas among others at the Niseli junction on the Egnatia road of Thessaloniki-Veroia, the Giannitsa and Chalcedon.
The participants in the agricultural blocks of Malgaronon the national highway Athens-Thessaloniki will proceed with a two-hour blockade in the afternoon from six o’clock in one direction to Thessaloniki, while at the junction of Moudania a corresponding mobilization will take place, and at exactly the same time it will take place on the national road Thessaloniki-Moudania in both streams.
Similar is the situation with the agricultural block set up at its hub Galatian on the national road Thessaloniki – Polygyros, where the farmers and breeders leave open the possibility of carrying out a three-hour blockade today from 19.00, as they did yesterday. Final decisions will be made by late afternoon.
Farmers in Western Macedonia are also blocking road junctions on the national roads, as well as the Egnatia road.
It is indicated that the closure of the road has already been announced from 3.30 to 4.30 in Grevena at the junction of Myrsini and the provincial road Kozani – Florina at the junction of Filotas, from 4 to 5. As it became known, tomorrow the farmers intend to proceed in the closure of the Florina – North Macedonia border for four hours, with a stop to traffic mainly of passing trucks. Final decisions are expected within the day.
It is recalled that the farmers, at the meeting they had in Nikaia, Larissa, decided to escalate their mobilizations and organize an All-Workers’ Rally in Athens, within the next week with tractors.
They interpreted at the same time that if the prime minister satisfies their demands until today, then they will also stop their mobilizations.
In the meantime, a meeting of the representatives of the agricultural blocs of Central and Western Macedonia is planned for next Saturday at 7.30 in the afternoon, in order to take decisions on the symbolic blockade of Greece’s borders with North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Albania.
“Everything is open and if the Greek prime minister does not respond to what we are rightfully asking, in order to continue to exist in the primary sector, then it is possible that we will take a tougher stance,” notes the farmer of Paionia, Thomas Karypidis.
