The meeting that the farmers held earlier today at the conference center in Sindo, Thessaloniki, has ended – representatives from the blocs all over the country, mainly from Thessaly and Macedonia.

The committee that will meet the prime minister next Tuesday will consist of 15 members and specifically, 6 from Macedonia, 6 from Thessaly, 1 from Central Greece and 1 from the Peloponnese.

The meeting will take place next Tuesday at 12:00 at Megaros Maximos, according to what Dimitris Tsiodras said earlier to SKAI.

Tsiodras to SKAI: “On Tuesday morning Mitsotakis’ meeting with the farmers”

Earlier the director of the press office of the prime minister Dimitris Tsiodras reported to SKAI that “Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with representatives of farmers on Tuesday morning at 12 at Megaros Maximos, as he returns from Belgrade on Monday”.

“The prime minister has shown that he is always open to dialogue, the notification from the farmers’ side of the 10 representatives who will come to the meeting is expected”, added Mr. Tsiodras. Asked what will happen until Tuesday, when the prime minister is expected to meet with the farmers regarding the road closures, he commented: “The right of one group to protest cannot be at the expense of the rights of other groups. The roads must be open, the government is open to dialogue.”

“Fiscal margins are not unlimitedin the medium to long-term level, issues that concern farmers can be considered beyond what has been announced – and they are not few – I am referring to VAT reductions for agricultural fertilizers, animal feed, agricultural machinery, etc.he emphasized.
