The Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime proceeded to identify a 17-year-old, who is accused of illegal access to information systems as well as a threat via the Internet, at the expense of another minor and his parents.
According to ELAS, the investigation of the case was preceded by a complaint by the parent of the minor victim, according to which the defendant had managed to gain illegal access to computers as well as to social media and email accounts used by him and the his minor son.
In addition, he made fraudulent phone calls against himself and his wife, while at the same time he sent them false and threatening messages via a mobile phone and an unknown social media account.
The above was brought to the attention of the prosecuting authority, which ordered a preliminary examination, while the subsequent online research and the use of digital data made it possible to identify the minor-accused as the administrator of the above account in a social network.
At the same time, his residential address was ascertained, while from the investigation carried out there, 2 mobile phones and a laptop computer were found and confiscated.
The regular procedure file that was formed was submitted to the competent prosecuting authority, while the seized digital evidence will be sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for laboratory expertise.
