PAS Ioannina fought and got an important point against the… experimental and with a different mind Aris

by

The game between the PAS Ioannina and the Mars for the 22nd matchday of the Stoiximan Super League, with both teams staying to zero in “Zosimades”.

Michalis Grigoriou’s team showed a good face compared to the previous matches, ousa better in the longest period of the match against a Mars with many changes in the lineup and obviously with the… mind in the midweek Cup match with Panaitolikos for the semi-finals of the competition.

A result with which the hosts put an end to a streak of four defeats, however, remaining in last place in the scoreboard with 13 points. On the other hand, the Thessalonians stayed for the second consecutive match at “X” and at 5th place of the score with 35 points.

In the coach’s mind:

THE Michalis Grigoriou lined up the hosts with a 4-2-3-1 system. Nagi was in goal, with Tutu, Bakadima, Eramusbe and Kiako making up the four in defense. In the midfield were Tsino and Liassos, with Rienstra, Rosero and Pamlidis making up the central attacking trio, behind the only promoted, Pedro Conte.

On the other hand, Mr Akis Manzios chose the 4-2-3-1, making several changes to the starting line-up of Aris, Eleo and the midweek first Cup semi-final with Panaitolikos. Under the fire was Cuesta, with Fatore, Brambetz, Roz and Odubajo. Doukoure and Tzourasek started on the axis, with Fetfatzidis a little ahead in the role of ten. In the “wings” were Bennett and Zamora, with Quique Saverio at the top of the attack.

The match

The first minutes of the match were recognizable, with Mars to have a slight advantage at the start of the match, controlling the tempo of the match and pushing the opposition defense high. From the quarter on, o PAS Ioannina leveled the game, getting his lines up and gaining yards up the pitch.

The first final phase of the match has arrived in the 13th minutewith Aris stealing from outside the home team’s area, the Zamora to make the shot from a lateral position and eventually win the corner. Two minutes later, it was PAS’s turn to threaten at one “carbon” phase, since after stealing from Rosero, o Gino he caught the shot from a good position, but the ball went over the posts.

Afterwards, the pace of the match was not good, since the a lot of mistakes of both teams, but also the “battles” in the midfield area, did not allow the game to gain a fast pace. From the middle of the half and until the break, the Gianniotes they seemed to be hitting the pitch better, coming out with conditions in front of Cuesta’s area. However, in addition to Liassos’ shot against Brambets in the 26th minute, but also the free kick by Conte in the 37th minute, with the ball going over the goal, they had nothing else to do in the first half. At the same time, the Thessalonians had a serious creative problem, while they had difficulty keeping the ball and building attacks from the axis.

PAS Ioannina-Aris:

Being concerned with the image of his team, Akis Manzios proceeded to two corrective actions with its initiation second half, putting Darinda and Suleimanov on the pitch instead of Bennett and Fetfatzidis. Nevertheless, it was the hosts who had the initiative of the moves, threatening bis at the beginning of the repetition. Initially in 47′, with his… confusion Count from an advantageous position, who did not decide whether to go with his head or with his foot to the ball, and then in the 51st minute, with the Spaniard’s heel through the small area, Odubajo cleared. Both phases came from very active centers Rosero.

In the 55th minute it was Liassos’ turn to threaten with a long and mistimed shot, before Ares reacts and with his entrance Manu Garthia on the field in 57′, revs up, gaining yards on the field. The Spanish midfielder took just 4 minutes to make a fine cross into the empty space with his shot Zamora from a lateral position to pass out, in the first moment of the “yellows” after a long time in the match.

PAS Ioannina-Aris:

Seconds later, Conte almost did the “damage”, with the Spaniard – in his last action before being substituted – stopping the ball in the Aris area, but not catching the shot well, under the pressure of course Pink. From the 67th minute and for a quarter of an hour, the game became tough, with many markings, with the referee, Vatsio giving a total four yellow cards!

In the last quarter of the game, both teams tried with good conditions to reach the coveted goal that would decide this – admittedly close – match. The entry of Moron into the match gave an offensive “breath” to the visitors, who had a great opportunity in the 84th minute, with his shot Manu Garthia outside the large area for Nagi to stop impressively. The last phase of the match, however, belonged to PAS, since in the 4th and last minute of stoppage time, the Leo Baptiste from a sideline position missed from an advantageous position, with the score remaining until the final.

MVP: In a match without a winner you can hardly find someone who stood out enough. However, if we have to give this award it definitely goes to Rosero, who was a constant source of danger for the defense of Aris, but also the one from whose feet came the best moments for PAS.

The… whistle: The refereeing of Aristidis Vatsios was quite good, he didn’t have many difficult moments to referee, while, as far as the yellow cards are concerned, they are all judged as correct.

The elevens:

PAS Ioannina (Mihalis Grigoriou): Nagy, Bakadimas, Kiakos, Eramousbe, Liassos, Rienstra, Tsino, Tutu, Rosero (86′ Demir), Pamlidis, Conte (63′ Leo Baptiste).

Aris (Akis Manzios): Cuesta, Odubajo, Rose, Brumbets, Fatore, Doucure (57′ Veleth), Bennett (46′ Suleimanov), Saverio (72′ Moron), Fetfatzidis (46′ Darida), Dzouracek (57′ Manu Garcia), Zamora.
