The outcome of the armed attack on a shipping company in Glyfada, with the perpetrator being a 70-year-old retired former employee of the same company, was tragic.

The perpetrator, according to information, was found dead in the basement of the building and according to the same information, he allegedly committed suicide. His carbine was found next to him.

Information also states that the total number of dead is four, one the perpetrator and three employees of the company.

Among the dead workers are two men and one woman.

The police were alerted at 10:20 on Monday morning when there was a call about shots fired at a shipping company at the junction of Artemisiou 2 and Fleming streets in Glyfada.

The men of EKAM in collaboration with OPKE entered the ground floor of the building at 11:15 in the morning and from there they went up to the roof. In the investigations they carried out in the building, they found in the basement, according to all the information, the bodies of the perpetrator and his three victims.

From what has become known, the perpetrator was allegedly a 70-year-old man of Egyptian origin, a former employee of the company.

According employee testimonials this is a pensioner, who was called “Mars”. As soon as they heard the shots, those workers who could ran to escape and went outside.

According to the testimonies of workers, the gunman was a foreman on an island belonging to the owner of the shipping company in Petaliou, Chalkida.
