The number “13” along with Tuesday as the… third day of the week is not such a good combination
For the prudent, today is considered particularly gloomy. They avoid a lot of movement, anything that involves danger even meeting… a black cat. But how has something like this come about and to what extent is it true that today is a Greek day?
For many, 13 as a number is in itself grouchy. Even on airplanes, no matter how hard you look, you won’t find a seat with the number “13”. 13 was considered for thousands of years as an undesirable number, as it breaks the harmony of the “perfect” 12. The day has two 12 hours, time has 12 months, the disciples of Christ were 12, the Gospels of our Church are 12, the labors of Hercules was 12, the tribes of Israel were 12, the imams of the Alevis were 12, the gods of Olympus were also 12 and so on.
For some others the theory of grusuzia comes from a long time ago. The prevailing opinion is that Tuesday the 13th is considered Greek, because on Tuesday, May 29, 1453, the Fall of Constantinople took place. Of course, the calendar showed 29, and not 13, but the sum of the digits of 1453 gives 13. This particular view, however, is probably due to the need to find the reason why the event of the Fall occurred. The theory that the Fall of the City by the Crusaders took place on Tuesday, April 13, 1204 has stronger foundations.
But how does the number 13 combine with the day, Tuesday? The third day of the week carries, as some say, a negative charge. People used to say that a series of bad events is completed when they happen three times. Phrases like “three evils” or “the three evils of fate” are perhaps not considered accidental.
Another possible explanation is that Mars meets Saturn on Tuesday. However, it is not known exactly what time this happens so the whole day is treated as extremely dangerous. So the combination of the 13th with the third day of the week can only cause disasters for the prudent, for those who still do not believe in them, it is just another day of the week with its ups and downs.
