Particularly, the two firefighters died in fires in Serres and Zevgolatio during extinguishing operations.
This is the pyronomist Savvas Savvaris, after whom the first ship was named, who died at the age of 44, in 2018, in a fire in Limnohori Serres. Savvas Savvaris was the father of two children and was born in 1974 in Kato Porroia, Serres. He had joined the Fire Brigade in 1999.
The second boat was named after the cadet gunner Aristidis Mouzakitis, who was seriously injured in 2017 while fighting a forest fire on July 13 in the area of Agioi Apostoloi, in Zevgolatio, Korinthia, and later ended up at the 251 General Aviation Hospital.
