Mr. Efstathopoulos emphasized that he will appeal to the Justice today or tomorrow and added that today he has called on people involved in the incident to testify, as he himself has taken over the EDE.
“What Mr. Vainas says do not correspond to reality, they are lies. I did not negotiate with anyone who does illegal actions and acts of sabotage” said to SKAI 100.3 the vice chancellor of EKPA Efstathios Efstathopoulos in response to what the member of the Executive Committee of ADEDY Pantelis Vainas attributed to him on SKAI television.
Mr. Efstathopoulos emphasized that he will appeal to the Justice today or tomorrow and added that today he has called on people involved in the incident to testify, as he himself has taken over the EDE.
According to him, in the one hour that the server went down, exams were lost in 6-7 courses. The rest of the day, as well as on Tuesday and Wednesday, the exams took place as normal.
Speaking earlier on the “Today” show, Pantelis Vainas stated that the server was closed for 1 hour with the agreement of the vice-chancellor, Mr. Efstathopoulos.
“On Monday, at the Informatics center of EKPA, there was a mobilization of the Association of Administrators, which had been publicized since Friday. The mobilization was not aimed at doing any sabotage. She had a request in which there was an agreement to shut down the server symbolically to show her opposition to non-state universities. The students didn’t get anything they waited for an hour. Every mobilization has a cost” he said and added:
“The building was closed, no one entered, in the presence of the head of the department we asked for a break. The vice chancellor and I discussed in an open hearing as part of a negotiation how long the server will “fall”, the server was stopped remotely. Mr. Efstathopoulos agreed. The interruption was made in consultation between the head of the department and Mr. Efstathopoulos. There are witnesses and journalists who were in front. We had an hour break.”
