The pan-Hellenic meeting of farmers in Nikaia, Larissa, is underway in order to decide their next moves.

The farmers are expected to decide to escalate their mobilizations by closing the national roads for several hours and marching in Athens.

The majority of the farmers propose an escalation of the mobilizations and tractors in the center of Athens, as they consider that their basic demand, tax-free oil, was not met.

The majority of farmers seem to be calling for a hard line, proposing to go down with the tractors of Athens, with all that entails. There are two proposals on the table, one to go down with the tractors to Athens during the weekend and the other to carry out the march during the following week.

The government, for its part, declares that it is not discussing behind closed doors, emphasizing at the same time that the fiscal margins for greater benefits have been exhausted.

The farmers insist that the benefits announced by the prime minister to the committee of 15 that went to Maximou do not solve their problem and that they face a real problem of survival of their businesses, as the cost of cultivation exceeds their income.

On Wednesday, the farmers proceeded to close the national road in Atalanti, as well as the customs office of Evzones, where there was tension with the presence of a prosecutor.
