Squads of the MAT have blocked any possible passage to the administration building of the AUTH and to the entrance of the School of Law.
An operation by the MAT has been underway since approximately 5:30 in the morning at the Faculty of Law of the AUTH, which is under occupation.
Strong police forces entered the premises of the Law School in a coordinated manner and opened the doors that had been chained and padlocked by the squatters.
Squads of the MAT have blocked any possible passage to the administration building of the AUTH and to the entrance of the School of Law.
The police operation follows the letter sent to the students by the dean of the Faculty of Law of AUTH, Mr. Panagiotis Glavinis. Mr. Glavinis addressed an appeal to stop the occupation in order not to lose the semester.
“Here, at the Law School, we are in an unprecedented situation. Never before have undergraduate students closed the doors to postgraduates, who have their own club. This is a very harsh occupation, merciless towards their colleagues, who are suffering a huge loss. Even worse, that it is a completely inexpensive protest for the participants, based on a logic of “we will do whatever we do wherever it goes.” We too, unfortunately, are hostages of this situation,” said Mr. Glavinis in an interview he granted.
