In the arrest of three men who pretended to be HEDNO employees to deceive mainly the elderly Police officers of the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE) of Corinth, in collaboration with the Nafplio Security Department, proceeded.

According to the police investigations, the three arrested, aged 39, 46 and 49, have deceived citizens in areas of Ilia, Achaia, and Argolida.

The three men were arrested in the toll area of ​​Kiato, after an inspection carried out by OPKE police and then the Nafplio Security Department was informed, which had already started investigations to investigate a fraud case that had occurred in the Argolikos area.

According to the police, the three men, a few hours before their arrest, had gone to the Community of Myrsini, of the Municipality of Andravida-Kyllini in Ilia, where, pretending to be HEDNO employees and under the pretext of harm, they entered the home of an elderly woman.

They then persuaded the elderly woman to leave her money and her mobile phone in a visible place, in order, as they told her, to protect it from an alleged fire. After a while the three men snatched the money and the mobile phone and hurried to disappear.

According to the police, as it emerged from the preliminary investigation, the three arrested had committed five days ago, with the same methodology, two more thefts against the elderly, in Aigio and Argoliko.

Money, mobile phones and a watch were found in the possession of those arrested, while the police of the Nafplio Security Department continue the investigations into the case.
