The gathering of the beekeepers in Syntagma Square is in progress – The University is closed due to the rally for the non-state universities – The health workers are at the Ministry of Health
The Police have proceeded with traffic regulations in the center of Athens due to protest marches-gatherings which is ongoing from beekeepers, health workers and students.
In particular, for the educational rally against the establishment of non-state universities, according to ELAS, there will be traffic regulations on the street Universityon the street Stadium and on the streets around Syntagma Square and in the rest of the streets where the demonstrators will move.
End, there will be traffic interruptions on Amalia Avenueas well as in Vasilissis Sofia Avenue from its height Sekeri street.

In detail, the statement of ELAS press representative, Police Officer B Constantias Demoglidou:
Today, February 22 marches – gatherings of beekeeping and healthcare professionals are already underwaywhich, as the case may be, moved through Athens Avenue towards the Syntagma and from Mavili Square, similarly, in the direction of the city center.
In this context, measures have been taken to decongest traffic by carrying out diversions and traffic interruptionswhere they were necessary, along the above routes.
In particular, beekeepers have reached the Constitution so Traffic measures are applied and they are in the bus lane on Amalias Avenue, while the workers in the health sector walk in one traffic lane and therefore the movement of vehicles takes place normally on the road network.
Traffic measures are expected to be in full effect at 12:00 noonan all-education rally is planned in the center of the city.
In particular, there will be traffic regulations on Panepistimiou Street, Stadiou Street and the streets around Syntagma Square and the rest of the streets where the demonstrators will move.
There will be traffic interruptions on Amalia Avenueas well as on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue from the height of Sekeri Street.
Drivers of vehicles are requested to avoid driving on the above roads until the completion of the mobilizations.

The beekeepers in the Constitution
The gathering of beekeepers is underway in Syntagma Square from all over the country, in an effort to highlight the problems facing the sector.
The beekeepers will have a meeting with the Minister of Rural Development Lefteris Avgenakis at noon.
About 40 trucks are lined up in Syntagma Square along with dozens of beehiveswhile the approx 1,500 beekeepers are protesting with smokehouses in hand.
Earlier tension was caused because the beekeepers’ trucks had been stopped by the police on Athens Avenue.
Finally the trucks reached their destination.
The beekeepers are expected to remain in Syntagma Square until late.
According to the Pan-Hellenic Coordination of Beekeepers’ Mobilizations, their demands are:
- Hellenizations (Administrative measures for full traceability of the course of imported honey. Institutionalization of gyroscopic examination as a laboratory control).
- Cost of production (de-taxing fuel, keeping tax-free in farmers’ tax regime)
- Removal of the restrictive fire regulations, which take away our right to work.
- Removal of restrictions of local Foresters. Placement of beehives, as defined by law 6238/1934.
- Pollination subsidy. Full inclusion in the CAP and greening.
- ELGA reform and total compensation for lost livestock.
- Traffic of beekeeping trucks on the side road network.
