Immediately after the robbery, police forces arrived at the fruit shop where they are conducting a manhunt to locate and arrest the perpetrators.
The nightmare in the face of the two hooded men who broke into his shops yesterday at noon, the owner of a fruit shop in Varda, Ilia.
According to information, after 4:00 yesterday afternoon, two men who had their facial features covered, “broke” into a grocery store in a central part of Varda, they threatened the owner with a knife, tied him to the cashier’s chair, and after beating him, grabbed the amount of 4,000 euros from the company’s coffers.
The robbers – who spoke broken Greek – acted in a… professional way, as according to the same sources, shortly before leaving, they made sure to… undress and take with them the recorder from the store’s security cameras, where they had been recording frame by frame their movements.
The owner of the fruit shop is still trying to recover from the shock he suffered. Speaking to the PATRIS newspaper, he described the dramatic minutes he experienced at the hands of his bandits. “I was sitting in the shop and they surprised me. They came in, they told me “robbery”, I thought it was a customer of mine and he was making fun of me. They asked me for the money. They made me sit at the counter. They punched me in the face. They took the money from both cash registers and from a box I had and some others. They spoke broken Greek, they were foreigners. They asked me where the recorder from the cameras is. I was confused. I didn’t understand what was going on,” he said
