“Turkey continues the regular practice of desecrating Orthodox shrines and cultural heritage sites, such as Panagia Soumela, Hagia Sophia and the Monastery of Chora in Istanbul.

Following the recent dancing of Turkish citizens at Panagia Soumela, now, with the permission of the Turkish government again, on February 23 and 24, film production company Sony Pictures will start shooting a film, turning the sanctuary into a Hollywood setting, which is offensive. once again the principles and values ​​of Christianity and Orthodoxy.

In the light of our previous question on 8 February 2022, the Commission was asked again:

“What action does it intend to take to protect, on the one hand, the cultural heritage sites that are once again being tarnished and, on the other, to prevent the repetition of such provocative actions by Turkey?”
