Plevris: The new measures come into force on Saturday – Those who stand up for entertainment return, the occupancy of the stadiums increases to 50%

From Saturday, February 19, the new, more relaxed ones come into effect measures for the coronavirus. Earlier, the committee of experts had given the green light for the resumption of school trips from March 1 and increase the occupancy of the stadiums to 50%

In addition,the experts were positively suggested for standing in indoor entertainment venues, but also for holding conferences.

Carnivals will not be allowed for another year, however the Experts gave the green light for controlled events indoors.

Following the suggestion of the experts, the Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, announced that the measures will enter into force on Saturday, while tomorrow the committee will meet again to consider individual issues. There will also be a discussion about carnivals.

The full text of the statement of the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris:

“At today’s meeting, the Committee of Experts, at the request of the Government, recommended the lifting of the ban on standing entertainment, the start of school trips, the increase of stadium occupancy to 50% and the implementation of telework in the private and public sectors in 20% “, stated in the margin of the decisions the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris.

He added that at tomorrow’s meeting, the committee will consider individual requests while the Commission’s proposal is accepted by the Government and the details will be clarified in the forthcoming JMC.

The new measures will take effect from Saturday 19.02.22.
