The proposal of the Prosecutor’s Office for the 39-year-old mother of two children who attacked her 37-year-old estranged husband with a caustic liquid, is expected today at the Mixed Jury Court of Heraklion, where the case is being heard. However, due to the work stoppage of court officials, the trial will continue at 11.00 in the morning.

In addition to the 39-year-old woman, two other persons – a 20-year-old student and a 46-year-old taxi driver – are sitting on the dock, charged with complicity in attempted murder.

In the meantime, the 39-year-old in her apology was “a torrent”. She talked about her life, her children, her “strict family”, about her marriages and how she met and married the 37-year-old. It should be noted that throughout the apology, which lasted about two hours, the audience watched “breathlessly”.

A particular sensation was caused by the fact that, referring to the absence of the other side from the trial, the defendant characteristically said: “I know the reason why they did not come! I have also spoken with Giorgos directly. Giorgos is letting me go back to my children. Because he has realized what has he done to me”.
