“A cleaning crew of the Municipality of Athens erased last night the names of the victims of the Tempe tragedy, which had been written in Syntagma Square, at the invitation of the guard of the parliament.
I categorically state that I never ordered this to happen and I was never informed of this unwarranted action, which I strongly oppose. The criticism leveled is absolutely justified.
I apologize to the families and to the thousands of citizens, including myself, who demonstrated, demanding justice for the victims of Tempe.”
