His vice president fell “in the soft”. Olympiakou, Kostas Karapapas.

As revealed by “Trial”the skirt, which he threw at the president of EPO, Taki Baltako, will cost him, in the end, only a fine of 30,000 euros. The Ethics Committee of the EPO did not impose a penalty of exclusion from the stadiums, because it found “sincere remorse» of the disciplinary controlled.

The researcher/first judge Maria Vlachogianni had proposed six-month ban and a 40,000 euro fine.

Now there is also the possibility of appealing to the Appeals Committee for a reduction of the fine.

Approximately ten months after the incident, one of the vice-presidents of PAE Olympiacos apologized on February 8 before the Ethics Committee and stated totally remorseful for his act, from the first minute it took place.

Among other things, Kostas Karapapas said during his apology:

I have regretted my act from the first minute. An act that neither honors me nor expresses my worldview. I may disagree with the EPO president on everything, but this act was unacceptable to me. Even the people closest to me criticized me.

There was tension before, but I regret what happened in the end. I did have the skirt with me, but I hadn’t planned on throwing it at him, I had it to give to my girlfriend. It was an act that does not characterize me as a person. I’m not that kind of person, I don’t act like that».

Vassilis Dimakopoulos, one of the advocates of the vice-president of Olympiakos, had said: “He condemns himself for this behavior. Repentance is important. If you are convinced by what he told you, you must deal with him with the greatest leniency“, while Dimitris Karpetopoulos added with his message: “His act was the product of intense indignation because of what had gone before. We are asking for either his release or the lowest possible sentence».
