On Saturday, the first same-sex marriage in our country took place in Nea Smyrni.

The two men were married in a close circle of family and friendsin the presence of all three of their children.

The pair shipped today letter of thanks to the Greek police for their “help” and “discreet presence at his wedding.

The two men, as they say, were receiving threats to their physical integrity and they considered it appropriate to ask for the help of the police.

“Sincere and heartfelt thanks to the Commander of the Anti-Racist Violence Department of Attica as well as to the experienced and kind police officers who covered us throughout the ceremony and after it” states the couple in their letter.
