In mass participation of the members of its university community AUTH at mobilizations against the bill of the Ministry of Education, which, among other things, provides for the operation of non-state non-profit universities, representatives of student associations and administrators of AUTH are calling.

In a press conference they gave ahead of the passing of the bill, they invited them students and the employees at AUTH to support the mobilizations, which include blocking of inputs of AUTH – tomorrow from 7 in the morning – student ID course at 12 and transition to Athena on Friday, to participate in the nationwide gathering in front of the Propylaia, at the time of the vote in the Plenary of the Parliament.

“For eight weeks now, the students have continued our agitations” said the president of the Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Engineering student association Giorgos Tsakiroglou, noting that “this bill makes injustice a law, because it allows some with a minimum payment base to buy degrees, while everyone the rest of us have to enter a procedure with cutters and a minimum admission basis with nationwide admissions, in order to have access to higher education”.

“We invite every male and female student to participate in the boycott of AUTH tomorrow at 7 in the morning, in the rally at 12 in Kamara, but also in the large nationwide rally of the student associations, on Friday at 12 in Propylaia”, said the president of the Chemistry student association , Christina Stamoulis.

The workers at the university, in any way we can, support and help. Tomorrow we have a work stoppage from the morning, the exhortation and appeal to our colleagues is that no one goes up to work, that the administration building and the services of the university in general remain inactive” said the president of the Administrative Staff Association of AUTH and a member of the general board of ADEDY, Yiannis Kourmoulis.
