From the Department of Cultural Heritage and Antiquities of the Attica Security Directorate, after investigation and utilization of information, ancient movable monuments were located in the surrounding area of ​​a holy temple in the area of ​​Corinth, where there were traces of clandestine excavation at the place where they were found.
The ancient objects were examined by an archaeologist of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth, who opined that they fall within the protective provisions of the Antiquities Protection Law and are of significant historical and archaeological value.
The antiquities are described as follows:
- stone tombstone of the classical period (480-300 BC)
- stone relief probably from the Hellenistic or Roman period
- marble head
- stone architectural member with relief form and
- striated column section
The antiquities will be handed over for safekeeping and final assessment to the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Sikyona.
The filed case file will be submitted to the Corinth First Instance Prosecutor.
