Arrest of a 31-year-old and filing of a case against an 18-year-old by the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate for online child pornography

From the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate, in collaboration with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children “NCMEC” of the USA, internet users were detected within Greek territorywho by using various online services had gained access to child pornography material on the internet.

The information and data were brought to her attention Athens Primary Prosecutor’s Office and after correspondence with the internet service providers and from the further preliminary police investigation, the evidence emerged as the place of residence of the two involved.

Investigations followed at the homes of the defendants, in the presence of a judicial officer, during which 3 mobile phones, 2 hard drives and 1 SIM card were found and confiscated.

In fact, from on-site control to digital persuasions in the possession of the 31-year-old, a lot of material (photos and videos) of sexual abuse of minors was found, which is why he was arrested in the context of the autoforos, while for the 18-year-old, his involvement in the illegal activity was identified, but the conditions of the automatic procedure were not met and the file that was formed will be submitted to the competent prosecution authority.
