Five hundred and ninety (590) the 36-year-old possessed image and video files of sexual abuse of minors citizen who was arrested in Thessaloniki by the Electronic Crime Prosecution Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece.

It was formed at his expense criminal case for internet child pornography.

The investigation of the case was preceded by digital analysis and a thorough online investigation by the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate to identify Internet users who possessed and shared digital files containing child pornography.

In this context, it was found that user he had at least -35- records of sexual abuse of minors, even using different electronic traces.

The above was brought to the attention of the Athens First Instance Prosecutor’s Officewhile after correspondence with the internet service providers as well as the further preliminary police investigation, the details of the person involved as well as his place of residence in Thessaloniki were identified.

In research held in his housefound and confiscated, mobile phone with memory card, five (5) hard drives extracted from a computer and an external hard drive.

Alongside, the on-site investigation revealed his involvement in the criminal acts under investigation, while in addition -590- image and video files (with a total volume of 140 GB) containing pornography of minors, apparently under the age of 15, were identified.

The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority and referred to a main interrogation, while the digital evidence seized will be sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for laboratory examination.
