More than 8,000 fireworks were found in a household goods business in Thessaloniki. According to the Police, this business was operating without a license to sell fireworks. A 24-year-old woman from Italy, who was temporarily in charge of the store, was arrested for the case.

Police officers of the Weapons and Explosives Department of the State Security Sub-Directorate of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, at noon yesterday (15-03-2024), arrested a 24-year-old foreigner, for violating the legislation on flares and fireworks.

In particular, after an investigation carried out in a store selling household goods, where she was temporarily responsible, the following was found:

The company was operating without a license to trade pyrotechnic articles. 8,244 pieces of pyrotechnic construction were found and confiscated, which lacked a registration number and relative classification.

The arrested person, with the case filed against her, will be taken to the competent judicial authority.
