The 49 people who were arrested during the police operation at the School of Positive Sciences of the AUTH, on Saturday afternoon, were referred to the Autonomous Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki.

Those arrested will be brought back to court today to be tried by the automatic procedure.

Prosecutions were brought against them for seriously disrupting the operation of a legal entity under public law (University), while the 48 are also being prosecuted for disloyalty as they refused to provide fingerprints.

Among them are 31 men and 18 women, aged between 19 and 30 years, while 10 of those arrested have concerned the authorities for similar offenses in the past.

Regarding the items seized during the same operation, such as nautical torches, wooden poles, anti-suffocation masks, fire extinguishers, sledgehammers, etc., the Police investigation continues to identify the perpetrators and a separate case file is being filed for violation of the law about weapons and flares.
