The intervention of the First Instance Prosecutor of Rhodes was caused by the report made this morning by the president of Philozoiki Rhodes, Mrs. Youla Dimeli regarding the dead deer in the park of Rodini.
Specifically, the prosecutor’s office requested a preliminary examination from Rhodes Police Department in order to investigate the circumstances of the animals’ death and whether they have been tortured. In this context, both volunteers who publicized the issue via the internet by posting relevant photos, as well as executives from Philozoiki and the relevant services, will be asked to testify.
It is noted that this morning the president of Philozoiki Mrs. Gioula Dimeli filed a report with the Prosecution Office of Rhodes, together with photos of dead deer that have been posted on the internet by volunteers.
As mentioned in the Filozoiki report, the photos “depict many dead deer in an area that is supposed to be cared for”. It is also emphasized that “the extermination of animals due to starvation and lack of water is obvious” and it is requested that legal actions be taken on the matter.
