Saint Claudia
Saint Claudia lived during the time of the impious emperor Maximian (286 – 305 AD) in Amiso (or Aminsos or Amsos or Emid) of Pontus, when a great persecution broke out against the people who confessed Christ.
She was arrested by the ruler of Aminsou, who was a pagan and when she stood before him, she confessed that she was a Christian and reprimanded him, after calling him cruel and unjust and an enemy of the truth.
The lord was enraged and gave an order and she was placed in a public place for a spectacle, where they began to beat her with sticks. Then they cut off her breasts with swords and, after hanging her, skinned her so much that her intestines were visible. Finally, they threw her into a great furnace of fire.
Her martyrdom took place between the years 303 – 305 AD.
