It is about a 41-year-old deputy policeman of ELAS and two citizens, a 40-year-old man and a 70-year-old Roma woman, while another 40-year-old man who was not arrested in the context of the self-immolation is accused of the same case.

After their apologies, the accused were released, the first two without restrictive conditions and the third with a “ban on leaving the country”.

The police officer claimed that they have known the 40-year-old since childhood, while he knew that he was a user and that he was taking him to the Dendropotamos area to obtain small quantities of drugs. He denied using, unlike the 40-year-old who admitted to being an addict.

The 70-year-old declared a user for more than 30 years, and pointed out that in this context she had developed a relationship with the 40-year-old. “He treated me, I treated him” he allegedly said before the investigator, presenting the allegation of “trafficking between users”.

According to the indictment, the Internal Affairs Service of Northern Greece received two e-mails, on September 1 and December 24, 2023. They included complaints about the specific police officer who serves in the Halkidiki Police Department.

“He uses drugs in front of me. I asked him if he was afraid of being caught and he said: “I am the law”. The messages in question also stated that the 41-year-old “doesn’t treat citizens well” and that he “drinks hashish and hangs out with hashish people”.

This evidence was brought to the attention of the Appellants’ supervising prosecutor and a preliminary police investigation was ordered. The police officer was placed under discreet surveillance and from the lifting of the telephone secrecy it emerged that the two men were supplying narcotics from the Dendropotamos area, using coded names such as “pies” and “spinach”.

On March 22, a police operation was carried out and arrests followed when the 40-year-old received a small package containing 0.36 grams of cocaine and returned to a car where the officer was waiting for him.

In home searches, drug pills, precision scales, etc. were found, among other things
