This season has started in a very bad way for him Lewis Hamilton and the Mercedes.
The British pilot has not managed to finish above her 7th place in so far Grand Prixwhile recently in Australia she dropped out due to her unspecified problem W15.
In fact, the 39-year-old described his start this year, the “worst ever”although it sent a message of recovery in view of the continuation despite the difficulties.
What he said in detail:
“This is the worst start to a season I’ve ever had. Yes, it is definitely worse than the previous two years and worse than 2009 I believe.
It’s tough mentally for everyone in the team, when so much work has been done over the winter and you go into the year so excited and motivated, and you have the mentality that you’re going to claim wins, to find out that’s not the case.
And to find out that you are not even able to win second or third place. It’s a big challenge, but I continue to be inspired by the people I work with. They’re still trying, and that’s the most important thing.
Unexpectedly, I feel pretty good. I try to see the big picture. Things could have been much worse. I am truly grateful to be here, and I still enjoy working with the team.
Of course I would love to fight for the wins and basically finish the matches. It’s never easy to come this far and not even finish half the race, but what I do know is that we will bounce back. We will be where we want to be in the end, we just have to keep working.
I think it’s easy to get carried away and get attached to one thing, but definitely the big picture is what we’re focusing on right now. You have to realize that you can’t control everything.
You get upset when you’re not in control, but if you can you have to push past it and live in the moment, that’s what I try to do. It’s no big deal, I’m not happy, but I’ll have a great day tomorrow and train hard this week.”
