A 40-year-old man was referred to the Automatic Three-member Misdemeanor Courtwho was arrested after his partner complained of domestic violence and revenge pornography.

He was arrested on March 25, 2024 by police officers from the Ampelokipi-Menemeni Police Station in Thessaloniki.

The public prosecutor charged him with the following charges: Bodily harm to a partner during cohabitation, per se and revenge pornography.

The incident took place on March 25, at 7 pm, in an apartment in Efkarpia, Thessaloniki.

An appeal was filed by the 40-year-old partner, mother of two daughters from a previous marriage, who complained that the alleged assailant grabbed her by the neck and threw her onto a piece of bathroom furniture and then while she tried to escape, he grabbed her by the neck again and dragged her about two meters to the front door of their home.

In addition, she reported that on May 5, 2023 and August 27, 2023, in the same apartment, the 40-year-old physically assaulted her, bruising her and biting her, respectively.

According to the complaint, at regular intervals, he threatened her that he would harm her two minor daughters and that he would publicly share her photos and private conversations, which he had obtained in an unknown manner from a social media account, in order for the sufferer not to break off their relationship.

Specifically, the complainant stated that she is in a relationship about 5 years with the 40-year-old and that they have been living together for the last three years in an apartment where they live with her two daughters from her previous marriage.

She noted that from the first moment of cohabitation severe problems began in his relationship because her partner was insanely jealous of her and without reason or cause.

His jealousy combined with his daily alcohol consumption resulted in his occasional physical abuse and daily verbal and psychological abuse, as he pointed out to the police.

“He wants to control my every move by calling me countless times during the day even during my working hours and I am forced to answer so as not to upset him, at the risk of losing my jobsaid the 40-year-old.

The disputed incident took place on the day of her name day, so after the guests-relatives of the woman had left, the 40-year-old, being drunk, urgently asked her for her mobile phone to check it, and after her refusal, the above-mentioned incident followed.

Regarding “revenge pornography” the sufferer reported that the defendant has obtained through unknown means photos of her bust which he threatened to send everywhere without her will.
