The Southeast Attica Security Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate, proceeded to investigate the attempted homicide against police officers, which occurred on 02-08-2024, in Koropi Attica.

For the case, a case file was filed against a 51-year-old foreigner, who is accused of attempted murder against police officers and subsequent thefts. In addition, he is also accused of violating the laws on addictive substances, on weapons and on foreigners and for violating personal data.

According to ELAS, police officers of the DI.AS team. they had spotted the 51-year-old walking on foot outside a company in Koropi and when they signaled for control, the attacker fired repeatedly towards them, luckily without injuring them.

After analysis and collection of the pre-investigative material, the 51-year-old was identified as the perpetrator of the attempted murder against the police officers and the attempted theft committed on 8-2-2024, but also for the theft against the same company he had committed, together with other accomplices , on 1-13-2024.

The 51-year-old was taken to the competent prosecutor.

Arrested, in the morning hours of 3-28-2024, in Paiana, by police officers of the Southeast Attica Security Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate, a 51-year-old foreigner prosecuted with an arrest warrant for attempted homicide against police officers and subsequent thefts. In addition, he is also accused of violating the laws on addictive substances, on weapons and on foreigners and for violating personal data.

In particular, in the afternoon hours of 8-2-2024, police officers of the DI.AS Team. they went to a company in Koropi, following a signal from the Immediate Action Center, for a theft incident.

Upon their arrival at the scene and during the perimeter control of the company, the police found a person moving on foot, with his facial features covered.

At their sight and at their orders to conduct a search, the defendant fired repeatedly at them, without injuring them.

The police officers, being in immediate danger to their lives, fired shots to immobilize the attacker, who escaped.

Police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Southeastern Attica, after analyzing and collecting the pre-investigative material, identified the 51-year-old as the perpetrator of the attempted murder against the police officers and the attempted theft committed on 8-2-2024, as well as for theft against the same company that he had committed, together with other accomplices, on 1-13-2024.

In a search of the house and possessions of the 51-year-old, among other things, they found and confiscated:

clothing used during the above acts,
-4- cameras,
glop and
-5.5- grams raw cannabis.

It is noted that the defendant has previously been convicted and served a sentence in a Detention Center for drug trafficking, while he lacked legal documents for his stay in our country.

The arrested person was taken to the competent Prosecutor.
