In new payments for 2023 damages, of a total amount of 76 million euros, ELGA will proceed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“YPAAT and ELGA live up to the expectations of farmers,” the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis, said in a statement and added: “With consistency and systematic effort, we keep to the schedules and with the payments we make, we continue to be on the side of the of our producers”.

As stated in a statement by the FSA:

  • On Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 12:00, ELGA will pay 60 million euros for compensations for the year 2023.

With this payment, 130 million euros have been paid to the producers over a period of two months, while it is foreseen that all the compensation due will be paid by the end of the first half of 2024.

  • On Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 12:00 p.m., 16 million euros will be paid through ELGA, from the State Aid, as advance payments of compensation to the crops of plant capital, mainly olive crops, for the damages suffered by the fires of the summer of 2023, in the Regional Units of Dodecanese-Rhodes, Magnesia and Evros
