“The Tortured Poets Department”, an album announced on the Grammy 2024 stage by Taylor Swift, arrives on streaming services this Friday (19). This year, the artist won her fourth statuette in the award’s best album category with “Midnights”, her most recent work until then.
In the capital of São Paulo, the “swifties”, as the singer’s fans – owner of the most profitable musical tour in history – are called, organize themed parties to celebrate the release of the new songs. The events are buzzing on social media and, together, the TS Party and Festa da Taylor accounts, which promote the activities, accumulate around 70 thousand followers on Instagram.

The songs from “The Tortured Poets Department” will be in the setlist, which will also feature hits from “The Eras Tour”. Some pop artists, such as Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish and the boyband One Direction get specific songs on the schedule.
According to Taylor, the album had already been in the production process for two years. After receiving the award at the Grammys, the singer also released the cover of the album, the 11th of her career, on social media.
Kaique Brandão, producer of TS Party, says that he has been a fan of the North American since 2009, around the time of the album “Fearless”. A few years later, he started producing parties in Belo Horizonte and later went to other cities, such as Balneário Camboriú, Curitiba, Florianópolis and Rio de Janeiro.
“This time, our capacity is for 800 people. The expectation is that tickets will sell out and it will be sold out”, highlights KaÃque. According to him, the event will feature life-size totems of the artist, drag queen performances, a reproduction of the “22” performance – the moment in the show in which Taylor hands over her autographed hat to a fan in the “Red” era – and a booth for instant photos.
The next parties with Taylor as their theme in the capital of São Paulo will take place at Estação Marquês, in Barra Funda, at 10pm, and at KatKlub, on Rua Augusta, also at 10pm.
