With the aim of strengthening police action in Attica and improving the safety of citizens, following a proposal by the Minister of Citizen Protection, the presidential decrees concerning the transfer code of the Hellenic Police were amended, so that police officers and special guards receive additional points if they serve in services in Attica.

With the new ministerial decision (F.E.K. A’ 56/16-04-2024), which will be effective from September 1, 2024, additional incentives are given to the combat police officer, creating a feeling of reward for the staff depending on their job position , as for each year of service within the territorial jurisdiction of the General Police Directorate of Attica, he will receive an additional number of points.

Specifically, the additional supply of molecules is configured as follows:

  • In services based in the transfer area of the General Police Directorate of Attica, up to one (1) unit.
  • In services of the General Police Directorate of Attica, except for the staffs, an additional up to one (1) unit.
  • In the Directorate of Direct Action of Attica, the Directorate of Police Operations of Attica, apart from these staffs and in the ACTION and OPKE teams, in addition up to one (1) unit.
  • In Police Departments and Security Departments of certain areas, an additional up to two (2) points.

The period of time for these cases is calculated based on the actual service time of the police officer in the services mentioned in the presidential decree, while for the calculation of the years of service, it is considered that the police officer serves in the Corps or in this service until August 31 of the year of submission of the transfer request.

At the same time, with the same presidential decree, amendments were also made to the services that are considered unfavorable for living.

This initiative is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Citizen Protection and the Headquarters of the Hellenic Police to strengthen the police presence in order to improve the safety of citizens in the Attica region.
