2000: The president of the People’s Republic of China, Jian Zemin, is making an official visit to Greece, the first visit by a Chinese president to our country, which was described as “historic”. Mr. Zemin had meetings with the President of the Republic, Kostis Stephanopoulos, the Prime Minister, Kostas Simitis and the political leaders. The main topics of the talks were economic cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as major international problems.
